This portrait of us was taken by Elsa Dorfman with her Polaroid 20x24 camera in her studio in Cambridge, MA on our eleventh wedding anniversary. We also have a portrait taken by Elsa exactly 10 years earlier on our first anniversary on November 20, 1989. Unfortunately only one cat (PJ - in my arms) made both portraits. The two other cats and three dogs in the original portrait did not live to be in the new portrait.
This jpeg does not do justice to the pictures that come out of the huge Polaroid camera, but Elsa's Web Site (elsa.photo.net) does capture what makes her photographs so wonderful. It is well worth exploring, but if you are in Boston or Cambridge you ought to try to see the original photographs.
